Dayspring

A friend of mine suggested that I post some of my poetry on here. I wrote this one fairly recently, and it's taken from some of the names of Jesus found in Isaiah and Luke.

DAYSPRING

Dayspring-

I need you at the dawn

When all my thoughts in shambles lie

And I cannot face the day

Councilor- 

I need you when I'm overwhelmed with words 

and want a greater Word to still my aching head

Bringing wisdom out of madness

Everlasting Father- 

I need you when all ways seem shorn of hope

and my pathway tangled lies,

Guide me through this life

Prince of Peace- 

I want you with an aching heart and weary mind

I want you when I cannot know the want itself,

But grope blindly through the darkness

Light of God, bring peace!

Christmas Tree hunt!

Cider, Spice, and Everything Nice

After a year and a half, I finally got the girls rounded up for another girl cousin's photo shoot!

I wanted it to be fun for them, so we had a spiced cider tea party.

They are starting to look so grown up!

Diana got to pass out the balloons. A honor which she took very seriously.

The balloons were a hit.

Go! With one miss fire... someone was overcome with sadness at the thought of loosing her balloon.

Emily looks like the Lady of Shallot in this one...

I asked her if she thought her balloon would be happiest with her, or with its friends, and you could see from her face that she knew she needed to let it go. It really was the sweetest thing- her cousins all gathered round to lend support.
